I recently purchased this item without the Dcc System. The train is wonderfully detailed and runs very smoothly. The directions for removing the car bodies are very clear adn install a decoder was a five minute job. This is the fourth Piko lovomotive I have and I am very impressed with their hobby line. I wish all the German manufactures would follow Piko and produce affordable models of this quality.
