Model: The 4-piece basic set contains 1 1st class end wagon, 1 1st class passenger car converted with restaurant, 1 2nd class center coach and 1 2nd class end wagon. The standard set can be supplemented with the item nos. 448101/448181/388101/388181 and 448201/448281/388201/388281 to a true to the original 8 part train set. Prototype: The series 407 is a high speed train from the ICE fleet that is presently under construction. The manufacturer of these trains is Siemens. The DB AG denotes the trains as the new ICE 3 even so they are for the large part a new development. The four system vehicles are scheduled for service in Germany, France, and Belgium. With 460 seats the 8-part ICE/series 407 is supposed to offer the same seating comfort as the ICE 3 with more seats. This is achieved by relocating several housing cabinets and to dispense with compartments in favour of high-capacity cars.
